Act Justly, Love Mercy , Walk Humbly was birthed when 1 lady named Mercy was given an opportunity to learn how to sew. With the help of a few people along the way, she has been able to start up a humble little business. She sews by hand beautiful items such as Re-usable Snack and Sandwich Bags from her 1 room home in Nairobi. Mercy lives together with her mother Esther and her 6 year old daughter named Stacia. “My life might not change very much, but with hard work and determination I will be able to give my daughter a better chance in life”
The Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly label was created to send a loud message. M 6:8 reminds each one of us of our responsibility to take care of those in this world who are suffering. During my time in Africa, I have come to realize that handouts are never the solution, hand ups are the way to go. It is better to teach someone a skill because you provide them a better chance in life and give them dignity.
Other ladies have joined the movement. Many ladies always need a voice to speak up for them. Alice and Selpher now walk under The Seek Justice, Love Mercy and Walk Humbly banner. They make their own handmade items that include Up-cycled Leather Elephant Table Cloth Weights and Faded Kitenge Necklaces with Recycled Beads.
